Meet Dollyanne – A Little Girl Who Needs Someone to Believe in Her

Dollyanne is a beautiful little blue greyhound with a sensitive soul, living in a world that can sometimes feel a little too big and frightening for her.

This pretty girl finds life challenging at the moment. Meeting new people and finding herself in unfamiliar situations can be overwhelming, and the world beyond the safety of the kennels is something she finds particularly scary. When she’s frightened, her fear can cause her to react negatively towards other breeds of dogs.

We want to be honest about Dollyanne’s needs, because finding the right home for her is so important. She isn’t a girl who will immediately rush to greet visitors or take everything in her stride. She needs someone who understands that fear can make even the simplest things feel enormous, and who is prepared to give her the time, space and patience she needs to feel safe.

Dollyanne will need an experienced, quiet and understanding home, with someone who is willing to work at her pace rather than expect her to fit into theirs. She’ll need calm, consistent handling, careful management of situations she finds difficult, and an owner who can recognise when she needs reassurance or a little breathing room.

A confident, resident greyhound would be a real bonus for Dollyanne. Having a settled canine companion could offer her reassurance as she navigates life outside the kennels, although any introductions would need to be handled carefully to ensure everyone is comfortable.

We know that Dollyanne’s journey may not be the easiest, and we won’t pretend that love alone will make all her worries disappear. Building trust takes time, and progress may come in small steps. But for the right person, those little steps forward could be incredibly rewarding – seeing her begin to relax, discover new things and feel a little safer in the world around her.

Dollyanne needs someone who can look beyond her fear and see the beautiful girl underneath. Someone who won’t ask too much of her too soon, who will celebrate the smallest achievements, and who understands that helping a nervous dog feel safe is one of the kindest gifts we can give.
